Microneedling / Collagen Induction Therapy

For those looking to improve the look of scar or boost collagen the microneedling might offer a minimally invasive solution.
Microneedling is the introduction of mesococtails under the skin to improve the appearance of the face: removing of tarnish and traces of fatigue, smoothing the texture, giving the skin the perfect tone. The moisturizing ingredients make the face gentle and supple.

Simply put, microneedling is the insertion of very fine short needles into the skin for the purposes of rejuvenation.

When the needle passes through the skin, it destroys the old tissue. To restore it, the body involves stem cells. As a result, a new layer of collagen and elastin is produced, which prevents age-related changes.

Collagen is a natural protein found throughout the body, and it helps to give structure, elasticity and vibrancy to your skin. Unfortunately, as you age, your body produces less collagen, which in turn leads to wrinkles, and a loss of skin elasticity and firmness. Stimulating collagen production can improve the look and texture of your skin and lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles quickly, safely and affordably.

The second effect is the action of mesococtails, which are selected individually for each client.

Answers to your Questions

What is Microneedling?

A medical device used for the purpose of breaking down old scar tissue and stimulate skin cells for proliferation. This multiplication results in the creation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers, as well as improved blood supply.

What can I expect from the procedure?

The skin is cleaned and numbing cream may be applied to lessen discomfort. For better results we use a collagen-stimulating product like Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin-C serum or skin lightener for pigmentation during the procedure. A small handheld pen like device with a sterile, disposable tip with 12 tiny needles is then used to pierce the skin. Our needling pen’s multi-speed and adjustable needle depth allow needles to pierce the skin’s layer at 90 degrees and increase the absorption of products. After the treatment, soothing Vitamin-C serum or Hyaluronic acid are used to hydrate, heal and protect the skin.

How will I look after treatment?

Sometimes. Most people will experience mild redness and possibly some swelling. The same way you may feel with a mild sunburn. Effects may last for 24-48 hours and there may be pinpoint bleeding and/or bruising. Within several days to several weeks you will notice a smoother, brighter, and more radiant appearance, however, the full effects of the treatment do not appear until several months later.

What is the down time like?

The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to pinkish that may last for 12 to 48 hours.

Is Microneedling Painful?

It is natural to be a bit wary about having needles applied to the skin. However, the needles that are used in this procedure are very small. On many devices, their depth can be adjusted to effectively treat different types of imperfections. For mild imperfections, most people describe the sensation as being akin to sandpaper or even a cat’s tongue. For deeper imperfections like scars, longer needles may be used, and a bit more discomfort may occur.

How many treatments do I need and how often?

Micro-needling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For collagen induction we recommend to start with 3 treatments, but with a minimum separation time of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. For scar reduction an average of 3 to 6 treatments are recommended. The number of treatments required will depend on how each individual responds to the treatments, and the extent of the damage at the beginning Micro-needling can be used on all skin parts of the body (neck, décolleté, arms, legs, etc). Most people will begin to see results after the very first appointment.

Can micro-needling be performed for all skin types and colors?

Absolutely. It’s safe and effective for all types and colors of skin,  so you can undergo this procedure whether you have normal skin, oily skin, dry skin, or some other skin type. The ideal candidate for collagen induction therapy is someone who is looking for an effective, fast, affordable way to minimize or eliminate various imperfections, including hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, and sun damage.

What are the side effects?

There are virtually no negative side effects from the procedure. None of been reported in over 150,000 procedures performed worldwide.
